Supporting one of the real professionals of county cricket
22 June 2007 - Paul is named England One-Day Captain. Paul made his First Class debut in 1996 after coming up through the ranks of the junior set up at Durham and was awarded his County Cap in 1998. Paul made his One Day International debut against Pakistan at Edgbaston in 2001. Acclaimed as one of the best fielders in the world, Paul won the NatWest Catch of the Series in 2005 and recently celebrated his 100th ODI appearance for England. Paul made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2003 and became a regular in the Test team after playing in the final Ashes Test in 2005 at the Oval, after which he was awarded an MBE along with his England team mates. Paul is Captain of England´s one day side. Paul will be supporting two charities throughout his benefit year, cricket charity Chance to Shine and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Paul Collingwood commented, ´I´m so pleased to be celebrating my Benefit this year and I´m particularly happy to be able to support Chance to Shine and Marie Curie Cancer Care, as they are charities that have particular importance to me.´ |
